Posterino 1.1
If you want to create a collage of your favorite photos and put it on a poster, Posterino 1.1 is the slickest and easiest way to get the job done. The program offers a variety of templates, with grids of identically sized frames or with mixtures of shapes and sizes. Adding photos from iPhoto or elsewhere is a cinch. You can have Posterino fill the frames for you, or you can drag and drop images manually for more control. You can also change the size and shape of individual frames, and adjust the placement of each image within its frame. Export options let you send your finished poster to iPhoto or Flickr, hand it off to your e-mail program, or save it elsewhere on your hard drive.

Comic Life in use
My school had a Roald Dahl day this week. The children in my class all contributed to a single cartoon put together on Comic Life that is on our new MacBook.
They enjoyed working using Comic Life and found it easy to insert the scanned pictures and resize the boxes. One group went on to produce another comic telling the story of 'The Magic Finger' - also by Roald Dahl.

Make a series of slides in Keynote from a group of images
keynotetitle20060109
Keynote is an alternative to Microsoft PowerPoint. It has many advantages. Its handling of media files is much better. It produces very slick presentations. It has a number of useful export options - for example allowing you to export to an interactive QuickTime movie - complete with any buttons or 'hot spots' you set up in your presentation.

There is an easy way to make a series of slides in Keynote from a group of images in the Finder.

From the Finder, simply highlight the images you want to import to Keynote and drag them to the Navigator window along the left edge of the presentation. (You may have to set your View mode to Navigator (e.g. Keynote » View » Navigator) first). Each image then appears centered within a separate slide.

"I really enjoyed your presentation at conference last week - very informative."
