Entertaining Backup

Digital photographs have become the
most valued files on any home computer yet few people actually take
time to back up their images on a regular basis. This tutorial
seeks to create not only a valuable back up but also a DVD that
will entertain and allow easy cataloging of your photos. This
tutorial uses iDVD’s ability to add additional content to DVD
disks. (Click here).

Casio has unveiled 'the world’s slimmest digital camera with a 7X optical zoom lens.'
More significant is the fact that it records High-quality movies using next-generation H.264 video encoding method.
▪ Creates movies at high compression ratios that save storage space.
▪ Records about 1.5 times longer, with the same capacity and same picture quality as conventional MPEG-4.**
▪ Silent lens motion enables optical zooming while recording movies in stereo sound.
▪ Records 16:9 wide-aspect movies compatible with wide-screen TVs.
** Casio comparison, at Normal picture quality setting.
Movie clips are recorded in the following resolutions:
• 848 x 480 @ 30fps

If you are in education you will love Quizlet.com. I have set up the KS2 science vocabulary list for children to learn and play with, in the comfort of their own home. The kids love it. Some have even set up their own quiz.

Podium Launch Meeting
08/03/07 21:33 | Permalink
The Podium launch meeting was well
attended and there was a sense of excitement about the project
ahead.
James Watson from Softease gave an overview of what Podcasting is all about and demonstrated the Podium features.

A Quick Overview of Podium:
Apart from the administration of the web server details, which are managed by a separate password protected application, all operations are carried out from one simple page. You set a name, an author and a description for your Podcast. You add similar details for the episode.
Recording is a simple process and publishing is a one click process.
All that is left is to publicise your Podcast rss feed and submit it to iTunes.
It was decided that the published meeting on Thursday 29th March would be changed to focus on Podium Training rather than Audacity – which will be covered at a later date.
Please email me to advise of your availability. jdilling [at] sussex-road.kent.sch.uk.
More details of Podium can be found at http://www.podiumpodcasting.com/
The getting started guide is at http://www.podiumpodcasting.com/pdfs/podiumguide.pdf
I will be publishing a review of Podium as soon as I have had a proper play with it.
